MiniMax H3 Max is the simpler sibling of MiniMax H3, released in August 2026. You give it a text prompt and, if you like, a picture for the opening, a picture for the closing, or both, and it fills in the motion. Output tops out at 768P, which makes it a sensible pick for social posts and test runs rather than big-screen delivery.
What you can make
- A product photo that starts moving: slow push-in, light sweep, a hand reaching into frame.
- A morph or transition between two keyframes, for example a sketch at the start and the finished room at the end.
- Rough motion tests of a scene you plan to render later at 2K on a bigger model.
- Short text-to-video clips for stories and feeds where 768P is plenty.
Settings that matter
- Length: from 5 to 15 seconds. The default is 6, which suits most social loops.
- Resolution: 480P or 768P (768P by default). Use 480P when you are only checking whether the motion works.
- Frames: a first frame, a last frame or the pair. With both, the prompt only has to explain how you get from one to the other.
- Aspect ratio: seven shapes from 21:9 to 9:16, plus adaptive.
- What is missing: no reference videos and no audio inputs. If you need those, or 2K, move to MiniMax H3.
Starter prompt
Camera slowly orbits a glass perfume bottle on black stone, light streak passes across the label, fine mist drifts upward, calm and premium moodWhen you attach a start image, cut the description of the bottle and keep only the camera move and the effects.
Questions
How is MiniMax H3 Max billed?
At from $0.104 per second. Studio and the API both show the estimate before the clip starts, and a failed render costs $0.
Should I start with H3 Max or the full H3?
Start with H3 Max if your clip lives on a phone screen or you are still testing ideas. Go to the full H3 when you need 2K, sound or reference media. The side-by-side page lists the differences.
Will the clip keep the exact look of my start image?
The first frame fixes where the clip begins, so colors and layout start out identical. How far it drifts over 15 seconds depends on how much motion you ask for, so keep the prompt calm if fidelity matters.
