Mini and Fast are the two cheaper versions of Seedance 2.0. They share inputs, run 4-15 s and render at 480p or 720p. Fast charges roughly 3.1x the Mini rate; what you get for that is sound out of the box and support for references showing real people. I use Mini for drafts and silent clips. If 720p cost is the main concern, also look at a third sibling, Mini Eco.

When to pick Seedance 2.0 Mini

  • Testing prompts at 480p, the lowest rate in this group.
  • Silent backgrounds and B-roll that will get your own music.
  • Long batches of animated product photos.
  • Trying out references cheaply, then carrying the prompt over to the full Seedance 2.0.

When to pick Seedance 2.0 Fast

  • Reels whose audio should arrive together with the picture, no extra setup.
  • Real people shown from reference media, with their consent.
  • A prompt you already tuned in Fast and do not want to port.
  • A scene where Mini and Mini Eco did not give a usable result.

Differences you will notice

  • Price. Seedance 2.0 Mini costs from $0.0784 per second and Seedance 2.0 Fast from $0.124 per second at 720p, about 3.1x apart at both resolutions. Put differently, 5 s from Fast at 720p buys roughly 15 s from Mini.
  • Sound. Fast adds speech, effects and music unless told otherwise. Mini stays silent until you set generate_audio: true. The rate does not change in either.
  • Real people. Only Fast is the variant cleared for real-person references. Mini's description does not include that.
  • Shared. Start and end frames, references (9 images, 3 clips, 3 audio files, with clip seconds billed), 7 ratios including 21:9 and adaptive with 16:9 as default, 20,000-character prompts. Neither takes duration: -1.
  • Mini Eco. Seedance 2.0 Mini Eco (from $0.0789 per second at 720p) has the same fields but renders at 720p and 1080p. At 720p it is about 1.75x cheaper than Mini and 5.5x cheaper than Fast, and its 1080p is about 2.2x cheaper than Fast at 720p. Its 720p costs only about 23% more than Mini at 480p. Sound is on by default; use generate_audio: false for silence.

How to decide

  • Cheapest 480p: Mini.
  • Cheapest 720p or any 1080p in this group: Mini Eco.
  • Sound by default or a real person: Fast.

Mini and Mini Eco have not been through my tests yet, so render one clip in each from the same prompt before a batch. Fast got 7.5/10 on September 27: the camera move toward the cup worked, yet the yellow tram turned cream and unrequested music appeared. Questions

Does Fast actually render faster than Mini?

The name marks a tier, not a speed I measured against Mini. Choose by price, sound and real-person support.

Can Mini produce a clip with sound?

Yes. Set generate_audio: true; the rate stays the same.

Where do I get 1080p in this family?

Not from Mini or Fast, both stop at 720p. Use Mini Eco, or the full Seedance 2.0, which goes up to 4K.
