Charged from a prepaid USD balance, no taxes added. Enhance Video 1.0: extras like audio or pro mode raise the price; Studio and estimated_cost give the exact figure first. A failed generation is $0.

Both tools take a video you already have and make it look better, neither generates anything from a prompt. Topaz Video Upscaler is the simple one: send a clip, get it back at twice the resolution. Enhance Video 1.0 gives you more say, with three quality tiers, a target resolution and room for long files.

When to pick Topaz Video Upscaler

  • You finished a short AI clip at 1080p and want roughly 4K for delivery.
  • You want to rescue compressed phone or social footage.
  • The clip must drop back into the edit unchanged in length and frame timing.
  • Your file is a short MP4, MOV or MKV under 50 MB.

When to pick Enhance Video 1.0

  • You are restoring old film or archive material.
  • You need a specific output size, anywhere from 240p to 8K.
  • The source is long, up to 2 hours and 10 GB in one file.
  • You want a cheap preview first and the final render later.

Differences you will notice

  • Price. Topaz Video Upscaler costs $0.11 per second, billed per second of source as measured on the server. Enhance Video 1.0 costs from $0.0053 per second; against standard, lite is about 27% of the cost and professional about 10x.
  • Output size. Topaz is fixed at 2x: 1080p comes back near 4K, 720p near 1440p. The 1x cleanup and 4x options are not available in Kadraris yet. Enhance lets you pick up to 8K (4K on lite).
  • Processing. Enhance does upscaling, denoising, deblocking and colour refinement in one pass, and professional keeps film grain. Frame interpolation, scene presets and 10-16-bit output are not exposed yet.
  • Input limits. Topaz: MP4, MOV or MKV up to 50 MB by public URL. Enhance: up to 2 hours and 10 GB, with the short side no larger than 1440 px.

How to decide

If you just want a short clip twice as sharp, Topaz. If you need to set the size, process long footage or choose a quality tier, Enhance Video 1.0. Whichever you pick, test a short passage with motion and fine detail first, keep the original for comparison, and check the cost reserve before sending. More in the AI video upscaler guide and upscale video before editing. Rates on /pricing and in the cost calculator.

Questions

My source is 4K wide. Can Enhance Video take it?

Only if the short side is 1440 px or less. Downscale larger originals before uploading.

Which tier of Enhance Video should I start with?

Preview on lite, render the keeper on standard, and use professional only when grain matters, since it costs about ten times standard.

Is there a time guarantee?

No. Length, settings and queue load all affect the wait, and a failed job costs nothing.
