Charged from a prepaid USD balance, no taxes added. Kling 3.0: extras like audio or pro mode raise the price; Studio and estimated_cost give the exact figure first. A failed generation is $0.
Don't let the name fool you: Kling 3.0 Turbo is the quick tier, not the budget one. Per second it costs more than regular Kling 3.0, even when you add audio to the regular model, and it does less: no sound, no 4K, no last frame. I run almost everything on Kling 3.0 and reach for Turbo only when waiting costs me more than the extra spend.
When to pick Kling 3.0
- Cost matters, because it has the lower per-second rate at both resolutions the two share.
- The clip needs dialogue with lip sync or ambient sound.
- The deliverable is 4K.
- The shot should travel from a set first frame to a set last frame.
When to pick Kling 3.0 Turbo
- A slow render is holding up your work; Kling's maker presents Turbo as the fast tier.
- You need silent B-roll to sit under a voice-over or music added later.
- A product photo should start moving from the first frame, with no sound.
- Your multi-shot prompt runs past 2,500 characters.
Differences you will notice
- Price. Kling 3.0 costs from $0.0963 per second (1080p, silent) and Kling 3.0 Turbo at from $0.277 per second (720p). At 720p and at 1080p Turbo's rate is above Kling 3.0 both with and without audio. Turbo has no add-ons, since it has no sound; Kling 3.0 raises its 720p and 1080p rates when you turn audio on.
- Defaults. Turbo opens at 720p and 5 s, Kling 3.0 at 1080p and 6 s. Set both to the same values before you compare totals.
- Sound. Kling 3.0 produces lip-synced dialogue and ambience when asked. Turbo clips come out silent.
- Resolution and frames. Kling 3.0 renders 720p, 1080p or 4K and takes a first frame, a last frame and 2 reference images. Turbo renders 720p or 1080p and takes a first frame only.
- Prompt. Turbo accepts up to 3,072 characters (2,500 recommended), and you describe several shots inside that one prompt. Kling 3.0 accepts up to 2,500. Both run 3-15 s in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1, and with a photo the image's ratio wins.
How to decide
On features and price, Kling 3.0 comes out ahead in this pair. Turbo is worth its premium only when a faster result has real value to you. I will not quote speeds, because I have not timed both tiers under the same conditions. When I ran Turbo with another provider for my video ranking on the Polish blog, it made a hard cut where the prompt asked for a slow push-in. Rates and examples for both are in Kling 3.0 API pricing, and every tier is on the pricing page.
Questions
How do I add sound to a Turbo clip?
Turbo cannot produce it, so add audio in your editor, or switch to Kling 3.0 with generate_audio: true.
Can Turbo go past 1080p?
No. Its ceiling is 1080p. For 4K use regular Kling 3.0.
Will Turbo stay the more expensive tier?
That is how the rates stand as I write this. The current numbers are always on the pricing page and in estimated_cost, so check before a big batch.
