Charged from a prepaid USD balance, no taxes added. Kling 3.0: extras like audio or pro mode raise the price; Studio and estimated_cost give the exact figure first. A failed generation is $0.

Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.0 work inside the same box: shots of up to 15 seconds and output as high as 4K. Kling has the lower per-second rate and offers lip-synced dialogue. Seedance 2.0 justifies its higher price once you bring reference material such as clips and voice tracks, or when you want 480p test renders or a 21:9 frame. It also produced the smoothest camera move among the ten models I tried.

When to pick Kling 3.0

  • You render a lot of 1080p and watch the cost of every second.
  • A character should speak English with matching lip movement.
  • You want 4K without paying Seedance's 4K rate.
  • You need mute filler footage for narration, which is where Kling's rate is lowest.

When to pick Seedance 2.0

  • Your ad starts from product packshots, or a sample clip should dictate how things move.
  • The shot depends on a smooth push-in. On the Polish blog its coffee pour got 8.5/10, top marks in my ten-model ranking.
  • You want rough 480p drafts before a final render.
  • The frame is 21:9 or 4:3.

Differences you will notice

  • Price per second. Kling 3.0 is billed at from $0.0963 per second and Seedance 2.0 at from $0.157 per second. Seedance costs several times more at 720p and 1080p, with or without Kling's audio, and is also the pricier option in 4K. Seedance also bills the length of any clip you attach as reference. Kling charges extra for sound at 720p and 1080p, while its 4K rate stays the same with or without it.
  • Sound. Seedance 2.0 adds voices, effects and a score unless you disable it, and disabling it does not lower the rate. In Kling you switch audio on yourself and pay more for it.
  • References. Kling accepts two reference pictures along with opening and closing frames. Seedance accepts nine pictures, three video clips and three sound files at most, and permits real people if they agreed.
  • Length and resolution. Kling: 3-15 s at 720p, 1080p or 4K. Seedance: 4-15 s, the same three tiers plus 480p, and duration: -1 lets the model choose the length.
  • Frame and prompt. Kling offers 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 with up to 2,500 characters. Seedance offers 7 options, among them 21:9, 4:3 and adaptive, and accepts up to 20,000 characters, though ByteDance suggests about 500.

How to decide

For plain text-to-video Kling 3.0 is cheaper and can do dialogue. With real reference material, such as product shots, a motion clip or a voice track, Seedance 2.0 pulls ahead. Speech outside English is a weak spot for both. Seedance 2.0 mangled over half the words of my Polish test line, and in a dedicated Polish check Kling 3.0 Pro missed ten words out of twelve. The two Seedance generations are set side by side in Seedance 2.0 vs 2.5; current rates are listed under pricing.

Questions

What does a 10-second 1080p shot cost in each?

Ten seconds at each model's 1080p rate, with Kling's rate higher when audio is on. Seedance's 1080p rate is several times Kling's. The exact sum appears on the Generate button in Studio.

Is 4K cheaper in Kling or in Seedance?

In Kling 3.0. Seedance 2.0 asks clearly more per second at 4K.

Can I mute Seedance to save money?

Setting generate_audio to false is allowed, yet the bill per second does not move, so there is nothing to gain.
