Charged from a prepaid USD balance, no taxes added. Kling 3.0: extras like audio or pro mode raise the price; Studio and estimated_cost give the exact figure first. A failed generation is $0.
Wan 3.0 covers long clips, up to 30 seconds with sound included, across five resolutions from 480P to 4K, and accepts a large reference set. Kling 3.0 caps at 15 seconds and treats sound, dialogue with lip sync, as a paid switch. Silent at 1080p Kling is the cheaper one; with sound the 1080p rates sit close together, and at 720p and 4K Wan costs less.
When to pick Wan 3.0
- Scenes of 20-30 s rendered as one take, without joining clips.
- High-resolution delivery at 2K or 4K, where Wan's per-second rate is lower.
- Very cheap test renders at 480P.
- Dialogue in Polish: Wan missed 2 of 12 words in my test, Kling 3.0 Pro missed 10.
- A recurring character built from up to 10 reference images, called "Image 1", "Image 2" and so on in the prompt.
When to pick Kling 3.0
- Muted 1080p footage, which is cheaper here.
- A quicker turnaround: about 114 s per clip in my test against about 170 s for Wan.
- English dialogue with matching lips.
- Moving from a start frame to an end frame at 4K, with characters talking.
Differences you will notice
- Price. Wan 3.0 costs from $0.0777 per second and Kling 3.0 from $0.0963 per second, both at 1080p with Kling silent. At 1080p silent Kling wins (Wan is about 1.43x), but with sound Kling is about 5% above Wan. At 720p Wan is about 8% under silent Kling and Kling with sound is about 1.56x Wan. At 4K Kling is about 1.56x Wan either way.
- Sound. On by default in Wan at no charge. Off by default in Kling; switching it on (lip-synced dialogue plus ambience) makes 720p and 1080p pricier.
- Length and resolution. Wan: 2-30 s, 480P, 720P, 1080P, 2K, 4K, default 1080P and 5 s. Kling: 3-15 s, 720p, 1080p, 4K, default 1080p and 6 s.
- Inputs. Wan accepts 10 images, 5 clips and 5 sound clips at most, and can also start from a PDF-type document or a web address. Kling takes 2 images and a first and last frame. Prompts: 20,000 characters in Wan, 2,500 in Kling.
- Formats. Wan: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 and
adaptive. Kling: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1.
How to decide
- Muted 1080p reel of 5-10 s: Kling 3.0.
- Sound from the model, more than 15 s, 4K or a non-English line: Wan 3.0.
With the same two prompts, sent through another API, Wan 3.0 averaged 7.75/10 (8.0 for the coffee, 7.5 for the tram) and Kling 3.0 Standard 6.75 (7.0 and 6.5). Wan charges for the length of any reference clips, and duration: -1 always costs 30 s. More in Kling 3.0 API pricing and Polish dialogue with lip sync in Kling; rates on /pricing.
Questions
Does sound change the 4K price?
Not in either model. Wan includes it everywhere, and Kling's audio surcharge applies only at 720p and 1080p.
How much cheaper is Wan at 4K?
About 36% per second compared with Kling 3.0.
What is the fastest way to a 25-second shot?
Wan 3.0 in one pass. In Kling you would need two clips of up to 15 s and a cut between them.
